About

I've been a geeky girl for as long as I can remember, but it took me 22 years to start playing Dungeons and Dragons.

I began playing table top games and RPGs in my teens. I was participating in Magic: the Gathering tournaments in high school and trading Pokémon cards since elementary school. One of my favorite past times is trying out new table top games from local comic shops. I had known about Dungeons and Dragons and even seen people playing it a few times, but never felt comfortable joining in on an established campaign with a bunch of strange dudes, and none of my fellow female geeks seemed interested. So, the years went by with me only being die-curious.

That is, until I met a wonderful nerdy video game programmer, and we started dating. We spent a lot of time talking about our favorite games, both those we design (his video games and my upcoming LARP) and those we play for fun, and he mentioned a weekly D&D game at his apartment. One week I was invited along and decided it was worth a try.

I spent the week preparing my character and her backstory, purchased some cool pink dice, then played my very first game, which was recorded for podcast, no less! And from then on I was hooked. In no time I was preparing session notes and working on my acting skills in secret. I come to every game with a binder holding my character sheets and backstory, with a special pocket for all my dice, of course. Because, when I like something, I always like it to the highest degree.

I started this blog to record my adventures in RPG. Gaming has been and continues to be a huge part of my life, and I'm hoping to spread the love of games to others, particularly other woman who may be experiencing the same troubles I've had breaking into the largely male world of fantasy and adventure gaming.
